TAMPA, Fla. – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis held a news conference Monday morning in Tampa to discuss immigration.
DeSantis was joined at FHP Troop C HQ by Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Executive Director Dave Kerner and Florida State Board of Immigration Enforcement Executive Director Larry Keefe.

The governor covered points which he’s already shared in recent weeks, such as lauding Florida as first in the nation regarding state-level support for President Donald Trump’s deportation program — with more than 1,800 Florida Highway Patrol troopers now reportedly delegated federal immigration authorities — and his disbelief that illegal immigrants deserve an “O.J.-Simpson-style” trial, referencing constitutional due process rights.
